Day 35, Friday, August 11, 2006

52 again this morning in Talkeetna. It rained all night. Packed up and drove to Anchorage. So cloudy and rainy we did not see anything on the way. Around Anchorage the rain stopped but still threatened. Got to the first real grocery store since Fairbanks, about 10 days ago. That was an expensive stop with both food and booze. Also found a fresh seafood store and bought halibut and Copper River Salmon.
We walked a little close to the R.V. park and found out from others that bear, wolves, and moose had been seen in the area. Hard to believe in such a populated area that they would come so close. We didn’t see anything, however. This campground has cable and we were able to watch the news for the first time in what sees like weeks. Didn’t look like we’ve missed anything. Campground advertised wi-fi but it wasn’t working.
It got to about 68 today for a high. The rain stopped but still very cloudy.
The halibut was great!

No pictures today - couldn't see anything.
