Day 44, Sunday, August 20, 2006
42 this morning (coldest so far). Once again, it rained ALL NIGHT and still raining this morning.
Kathy did her first one today in the motor home! (you’ll have to ask her what) .
It’s tight with four adults and three dogs in Blue Boy, but we are still friends after sleeping through the rainy night, all taking showers in the motor home in the morning, no sewer or electrical or water hookups, and two inches of water in the campsite. We left with rain still coming down after Ellen fixed a great breakfast of oatmeal with bananas, blueberries, almonds, and honey.
Hour and a half drive to the Kenai Princess R.V. park. Left the dogs and motor home there and drove the rental car to the Russian River Falls trailhead for a 6 mile hike to view the salmon run up the river. You may have noticed Ellen and I did this hike a few days ago but thought Bruce and Kathy would enjoy it so we went back. Thankfully the rain stopped. Back to camp for “cocktail hour” and then to the Princess Lodge dining room for fresh halibut. Rain returned during the night.
The only good picture of the salmon run was posted yesterday.
