Day 41, Thursday, August 17, 2006

55 this morning and no rain - finally! It did rain most of the night, but gone before getting up. Headed out around noon for Kenai to see the Cook Inlet off of the Gulf of Alaska. Started to clear up the closer we got. SUNSHINE in Kenai! What a good feeling. We found a campground right on the coast with full hook-ups, wi-fi, cable t. v., view, etc. It's about 65 this afternoon, but still a little chilly if in the breeze off the Gulf. We went for a two hour beach walk this afternoon on the Gulf and soaked up the sun to recharge our batteries. Great time. Came back to campground and gave the dogs a much needed bath. What a change. When you spend so much time with them you forget how good a clean dog smells.
