Day 43, Saturday, August 19, 2006

52 this morning at Williwaw. Rained all night but finally stopped by this morning. Still cloudy and foggy but at least we can go outside. Spent most of the day cleaning Blue Boy and getting ready for our guests. Ellen did a lot of food prep as a big welcome dinner is planned for tonight. Bruce and Kathy arrived on schedule and brought clearing skys and wonderful sunshine. It didn’t last long but gave us a window of opportunity to hike up to view the Byron Glacier – great hike. Back to camp ground for dinner (see menu). Returning rain held off long enough to build a campfire and grill salmon over the open fire as planned. What a great meal. Ellen really did a lot of work to make it memorable. Good to see friends after 6 weeks on the road. And they brought us a little sunshine! None of us drink so we had some after-dinner decaf coffee and went to bed early.

They are here and look at the sun in the background!
Isabelle is keeping a watch out for their arrival
