Day 11, Tuesday, July 18, 2006

Drove to Moraine Lake today and hiked. Very beautiful. Drove on to Lake Louise, also very beautiful. Pictures will never reveal what we saw!
Drove North on the Icefields Parkway.
After staying in an overflow lot last night we called ahead to reserve a site at what was advertised as an RV Resort. It was a pit! We got a refund and drove to a river that was glacier fed and spent the night. Canadian Government property free to use. It was the best camp site we have ever experienced! Big open field. We just drove to a clearing by the river and parked. River out our front door and BIG snow capped mountains all around. Only three other campers. Dogs got to run loose. We would have spent one or two more days there if time allowed.
Gas today $3.75.
Drove only 110 miles today because of all the stops.
